I especially like the details on the saddleand the riders outstreched hand.
Can you tell me, is the rider longing for the moon, but this wild hunt is taking him away from it? Or is he shielding himself with his hand from the moon?
Some critisism (Please don't get this wrong, this is my subjective point of view and i really love the painting):
- I would have loved more detail on the horses head.
The rider is very detailed and, because of the silver outlines from the moon light, looks very sharp. Also the saddle features many sharp (and great looking!) details.
The head of the horse lies on the same plane like the rider and the saddle (I don't know how else to say this. These three things is simply what my attention focuses on when looking at the painting). Jet it looks much less detailed and sharp.
This makes it a bit confusing for me to look at. From my point of view it is cleary foreground, but it looks like background.
- I would have prefered the night landscape on the left side to be a bit more blue, so that it forms a stronger colour contrast to the red inferno on the right side.
You've done a really great job on this painting! I love it!
