Ecuador
I was born in Quito, Ecuador. my name is Andrés Marcial Coba. I started to draw when I was a teenager. I used to make some improvisations with drawings that at that time had no sense or meaning. I’m still using the same technique to compose, but now I analyze my sketches and almost always I use oil colors to paint them. I have studied the themes and subjects that I liked and have been interesting for me, I’m basically autodidact, I also like to study classic paintings and now I'm focused into studying human figure. If I could define my artwork, it would be like a trip, a spiral of sensations based on the dialectic tension that we all as mankind suffer, my artwork talks about female and male, eternal and ephemeral, night and day, death and live, elements that complement each other, but we as singles as individuals feel the lack of the opposite aspect, that aspect tried to be reached many times in a moment when both of them can be together, when everything is perfect, when everything is complete. My artworks reflect the fantasy of that kind of world and even though they reflect the dialectic tension, they also reflect the joy of a complete being, a joy of a world where everything has sense.

Work work reminds me greatly of one of my favorite artists, P. Bruegel the Elder. Absolutely stunning and well executed. I am absolutely in love with your work!
your artwork is really awesome and interesting as well! since I´m studying art history and all that I see such pictures in a very new perspective. keep up your work!
Thank you, yeah since the 19th century art took a different role, and is not necessary to create artworks depicted to beauty, we all are influenced by this strange but awesome culture and that represents the level of conscience that some humans have reached. Keep creating art and honest art.
that's right. I guess that's the time we are talking about at school now. artists draw to express their feelings and to show what they think about the current situations and what is important for peoples thoughts even if most of those people don't understand the message of an artwork/of the artist. and no problem~
